TEAM BUILDING FOR KIDS

What we don't realize is that students are not born with a team mentality.  Children learn what they see and many of them do not have appropriate social skills because they have not had appropriate models and no one has actually taught them how to handle social situations.

What we don't realize is that students are not born with a team mentality.  Children learn what they see and many of them do not have appropriate social skills because they have not had appropriate models and no one has actually taught them how to handle social situations.  Many of them simply do not know how to get along with one another, nor do they know how to solve a conflict when it occurs.  We don't want children not to have conflicts.  Conflicts are a normal part of life.  What we don't want is for children to respond negatively to conflict with aggression or shutting down.  We want children to be comfortable, confident, and assertive.  Participating in team building activities can help students to feel like they belong in a group.  They learn how to communicate, how to cooperate, and how to have teamwork.  I would like to share with you a few activities that will help your students to get along.
